Profile: Depth Charge has been on Omicron since the colony was first founded, and has watched it grow from a tiny scientific outpost to a major colony and population centre. He is considered a tower of strength by the colonists, and many owe him their lives and their livelihoods. However, Depth Charge is a deeply distraught mechanism. Omicron has expanded to the point where he is unable to provide security to all its inhabitants, and his inability to fulfill his duty, no matter how hard he works himself, has left him physically and emotionally exhausted. Overtaxed and overwrought, Depth Charge feels trapped on Omicron, but unable to leave his people unguarded. He has never seen optic-to-optic with Optimus Tidal, and the increasing load on his broad shoulders has turned that disagreement into deep resentment. Once a placid and calm invidual, Depth Charge is now perpetually short-tempered, becoming enraged at the slightest matter - often to the point of becoming physically violent towards his own people, which only serves to increase his emotional distress.
Abilities: Depth Charge's physical strength is unrivaled on Omicron. His size alone makes him a tough opponent - he's almost twice as big as the average Maximal. Possessing a highly focused mind and great courage, Depth Charge faces problems head-on and without reservation. His scanners, designed and installed by Escolar, are of the utmost sensitivity. Once he locks onto another mechanism's spark-signature, he is instantly aware of their location up to a range of 100 miles. In his attack-craft mode, he is equipped with a bow-mounted energy-disc launcher and twin electrostatic batteries on each wing. His powerful, flexible tail is also able to deliver a powerful electric charge; a capacity it retains in robot-mode, where Depth Charge can also detach it and use it as a spear. In vehicle mode, he is both swift and acutely maneuverable; he can also reverse his wings and convert into a faster pursuit-mode with four forward-mounted lasers. In battle, he is a terrifying opponent as he gives vent to his frustrations through physical assault. In both modes, he is equipped with a double-barreled missile launcher that he can operate by remote up to a range of 50 miles; it also possesses multi-band scanning capability and can extend the range of his scanners up to 150 miles. In both modes, he possesses great endurance. He is also equipped with a standard-issue high-calibre energy rifle. His physiognomy fine-tuned to life on Omicron, Depth Charge is not only capable of operating underwater in both robot and vehicle mode, but perhaps more at home in the sea than on land.
Weaknesses: His inability to control his temper and his rare outbursts of physical violence have alienated Depth Charge from the colonists he strives to protect. His emotional distress and physical tiredness mean that he is rarely functioning at full strength. He's not particularly fast in robot mode. Although his scanners are pin-point accurate to their target, Depth Charge is relatively blind to other signatures he's not scanning for.
