Subject: A dictionary of terms, places and things from the Koiverse. Some of these things are canon and have been given expanded definitions; most of them are my creations. If you would like to use one of my terms, please ask first [or at least credit me]; if you're not sure if a term is canon or fan-created, feel free to ask.


City-state

[general]: One of the divisions of Cybertron, which, during the Golden Age, formed independent states under the guidance of the Council of Autobot Elders. Iacon offered other city-states the choice of signing into a pact placing their citizens under Iaconic law whilst bringing the state into a favourable trade and benefit union. City-states are classed by size; those covering an entire insula-plate [tectonic plate] are called insula-states; those covering part of an insula-plate are called city-states; smaller states are called provinces. The main city-states were:

Albiacon [trans. "White-Shining City of Guidance"]

Metronoma: Albixis ["white-shining city of the governor"]

Province; Polar Torus partner and vassal-state. The state derives its name from the shining-white cladding on the higher towers and public buildings of the metronoma. The state is Primordialist and is a cult centre for the Seekers of the Fourth Prime. Albiacon's citizens are referred to as Albiaconics or Albons; they value respect for those greater than oneself, state-patriotism and the desire to be more like Iaconics. Albiacon is the gateway-province into Iacon; it has no central government but is governed by Iacon.

Altihex [trans. "High Walled City"]

Metronoma: Altixis ["high city of the governor"]

Insula-state; Polar Torus partner. The state derives its name from the high elevation of the major parts of the state. The state is a centre for observatories and the construction of deep space research, space-capable craft and satellites. The state is Primordialist and is a cult centre for the Followers of the One. Altihex's citizens are referred to as Altihexians or Altexors; they value freedom of expression and speech, openness and honesty.

Argenex [trans. "Silver-Plated City of the Leader"]

Metronoma: Argenex

City-state; Murion Torus State member. The state derives its name from the silver cladding on the higher towers and public buildings of its metronoma. The state is a centre for the importing, processing and distribution of silver, aluminium and platinum. The state is Polyfoundist and a cult centre for the Ever-Increasing Brotherhood. Argenex's citizens are referred to as Argenes, Argexians or Argenezerians; they value a strong work ethic, kindness to others and the willingness to accept differences.

Aurunum [trans. "Golden Place of Towers"]

Metronoma: Auraxis ["golden city of the governor"]

City state; Orbital Torus member. The state derives its name from the golden cladding on its higher towers and larger habitation blocks. The state is a centre for the importing, processing and distribution of gold ores, and for the production of superconductors and supermagnetics. The state is Sigmite. Aurunum's citizens are referred to as Aurunes, Aurunites or Aurunelles; they value physical vitality, open friendliness and kindness to strangers.

Boltax [trans. "Arrowlike City"]

Metronoma: Boltaxis ["arrowlike city of the governor"]

Province; self-governing independent. The state derives its name from its arrow-like shape. The state is Primordialist, a haven for Primordialists emigrating from Kaon and a cult centre for the Disciples of the Underbase. Boltax's citizens are referred to as Boltaxians or Boltegoxes; they value solitude, academic inquiry and respect for the learned and wise. Subcities include Ugobolt ["arrowlike mountain"].

Deltacron [trans. "Perfectly Triangular Place"]

Metronoma: Delatacroxis ["fourth city of the governor"]

Province; Legascion vassal state. The state derives its name from its triangular shape. The state is Polyfoundist and a cult centre for the Scions of the Flame. Deltacron's citizens are referred to as Deltacrons or Delatars. Subcities include Epliznidozocon ["black-glittering-jewel city"].

Dizeon [trans. "Place Decorated with Stars"]

Metronoma: Dizeoaxis ["star-strewn city of the governor"]

City-state; Murion Torus member. The state derives its name from the reflective star-shaped decorations on the towers and public buildings of its capital; this decoration was adopted by most major Dizeon cities as a sign of state-patriotism. The state is a centre for artistry, cinematography and experimental design. The state is Polyfoundist and a cult centre for the Starmakers. Dizeon's citizens are referred to as Dizeos ["star-people"] or Dizuns; they value artistic endeavour, finely-tuned aesthetic senses and free spirit. Subcities include Safix ["sapphire city"], Betacron ["red city"] and Euidenox ["lantern city"]. Dizeon is a major consumer of materials and energon.

Hermeun [trans. "Sea of Mercury"]

Metronoma: Hermeunis ["city of the sea of mercury"]

City-state containing the Sea of Mercury and its islands; Legascion state. The state derives its name from the Sea of Mercury. The state is the centre for Legascion government. The state is Polyfoundist and is a cult centre for the Sons of the Rising Lord. Hermeun's citizens are referred to as Hermeunos, Hermoors or Hermeos; they value devotion to history, respect for customs and hierarchy, obedience to authority and archaic, poetic speech. Subcities include Atalantix ["city of the giants"].

Hydrax [trans. "City Rising From the Waters"]

Metronoma: Hydraaxis ["mighty water city of the governor"]

Insula-state including the Sea of Rust; self-governing independent. The state derives its name from its construction; it is an island rising sharply out of the Sea of Rust. The state is a centre for the production of rust inhibitors, for xenotourism and xenos processing, and the site of the xenopublic spaceports and the only permanent xenorganic settlement zone. The state is a religious free state and is a cult centre for the Word Bearers, Brotherhood of the Gods of Light and the World Makers. Hydrax's citizens are referred to as Hydraxians or Hydraxagars. Subcities include Lantamnaron ["city on the great sea-river"].

Iacon [trans. "The Place of Leaders"]

Metronoma: Iaxis ["guiding city of the governor"]

Insular state; Polar Torus founder. The state derives its name from its position as seat of world government. The state is a centre for the production of heavy goods vehicles. The state is Primordialist and a cult centre for the Sons of Primus and the Acolytes of the Flame. Iacon's citizens are referred to as Iaconics or [mockingly] as Yicons; they value strong moral and ethical values, upright honesty, the will to do what is right, and responsible, contained behaviour. Subcities include the Celestial Spires. Iacon is the northern polar state.

Kalis [trans. "Beautiful City"]

Metronoma: Kallaxis ["very beautiful city of the governor"]

Insula-state; Legascion state. The state derives its name from its capital; once a military camp, beautification projects raised it to a state of supreme elegance. The state is a centre for ore processing and energon storage. The state is Polyfoundist and a cult centre for the World Makers. Kalis' citizens are referred to as Kallaxians, Kalisines or Kaalines; they value devotion to history, respect for authority, obedience to superiors, quietness and superiority of machines over organics. Subcities include Hydrunarox ["city of lily pads" viz. "city of platforms on the water"] and Zendralbron ["white-tiered city"].

Kaon [trans. "Designed in Flux"]

Metronoma: Kaoaxis ["flux city of the governor"]

Insula-state; Orbital Torus founder. The state derives its name from its political system of transitory laws and random events, designed to foster change in society and to rejoice in the nature of Cybertronians as beings of change. The state is Sigmite and a cult centre for the Sons of Sigma. Kaon's citizens are referred to as Kaonics, Kaoes or Kaoons; they value freedom of choice, joy in life, and openness to new ideas and change. Kaon is the southern polar state.

Khalkon [trans. "Copper-Forged"]

Metronoma: Khaloxis ["copper-plated city of the governor"]

Insula state; Tri-Peninsular Torus partner. The state derives its name from its wealth in copper and the copper cladding on its major public buildings. The state is a centre for the importing, processing and distribution of copper and copper-based alloys, and for the construction of construction vehicles. The state is Primordialist. Khalkon's citizens are referred to as Khalkonians, Khalkors, Khalokars or Khalkites; they value slow, methodical ambition, careful planning and a steady temperament.

Khelekarum ["Towers Made of Beautiful Bronze"]

Metronoma: Khelekraxis ["bronze-steepled city of the governor"]

City-state; Orbital Torus partner. The state derives its name from the bronze cladding on its very numerous high towers. The state is a centre for the importing, processing and distribution of bronze and also iron. The state is Sigmite. Khelekarum's citizens are referred to as Khelerenes, Khelrunes, Khelerites or Karumines; they value an exploring spirit, endeavour and looking to the future. Subcities include Ugolrygnarum ["towers near the mountain"]

Kolkular [trans. "Raised by Labour"]

Metronoma; Kolkukullis ["work-heat-retaining city of the governor"]

Province; self-governing independent state. The state derives its name from the labour project that brought about its independance from Kaon, of which it was once a province. The state is Sigmite. Kolkular's citizens are referred to as Kolkuls, Kolkars or Kholkhors [all these terms roughly translate as "worker" and have become derogatory terms for Autobots in the Decepticon language]; they value state-patriotism, a love of orderliness and a disdain of Kaon and its flux policies.

Krystagon [trans. "Forged of Crystal"]

Metronoma: Krystax ["crystal city"]

Insula-state; Orbital Torus partner. The state derives its name from the major use of crystals in its buildings. The state is a centre for the production of power crystals. The state is Sigmite and a cult centre for In Reverence To The Globe. Krystagon's citizens are referred to as Krystagonians, Krystars, Krygoxes or Krystites.

Neutral Territories

Metronoma: Anydaxis ["inoffensive city of the governor"]

Province; independant state. The state derives its name from its political organisation; a republic of unaligned provinces and minor territories. The state is a centre for commerce and population resettlement. The state is a religious free state. The Neutral Territories' citizens are referred to by outsiders as Territorials or Neutorials, not as neutrals or Neutralists. The major territories controling the Neutral Territories' ruling council are:

Nova Cronum [trans. "New Time Towered City"]

Metronoma: Nova Craxis ["new leaping city of the governor"]

Insula-state; Polar Torus partner. The state derives its name from being the site of Cybertron's central timekeeping facilities. The state is a centre for chronology management, mapmaking, theoretical research facilities and philosophical havens, and for the construction of scientific equipment. The state is Primordialist. Nova Cronum's citizens are referred to as Novacrons, Cronons or Novates; they value scientific curiosity, personal privacy and a placid temperament.Subcities include Declavarn ["Hidden Place"].

Praxus [trans. "Practical Strength"]

Metronoma: Praxis ["practical city of the governor"]

Insula-state; Tri-Peninsular Torus partner. The state derives its name from its citizen's high value for practicality. The state is a centre for training facilities and the production of major traditional vehicle lines. The state is Primordialist and a cult centre for the Scions of the Light. Praxus' citizens are referred to as Praxars or Praxuls; they value practicality, professional skill and established customs. Subcities include Hybokrae ["north point"].

Protihex [trans. "First Walled City"]

Metronoma: Protihaxis ["first walled city of the governor"]

Insular-state; Tri-Peninsular Torus partner. The state derives its name from being the site of the most ancient walled city and the central government of the Brass Age. The state is Primordialist. Protihex's citizens are referred to as Protihexians or Protoes; they value pride in history, knowing when to shut up and service to the community.

Proxxon [trans. "Build Proud"]

Metronoma: Proxxoxis ["proud-built city of the governor"]

Insula-state; self-governing independent. The state derives its name from its pride in its independence from all other states. The state is a centre for the production of custom-designed sports cars and wind generators. The state is mechanite. Proxxon's citizens are referred to as Proxxonites or Proxxors; they value privacy, non-involvement and uniqueness. The state is incredibly isolationist, a centre for Neutralists, and completely xenoprivate.

Quintesseplex [trans. "Five Capital Cities"]

Metronoma: Quintaxis ["fifth city of the governor"]

City-state; Murion Torus member. The state derives its name from being a republic of five provinces - Batatassaon ["founded on the thought of purity], Dessalium ["broken towers"], Polosos ["built on many things"], Rignarum ["towers of this place are near"] and Vakhel ["electrified bronze"] - each with their own capital city. The state is a centre for cinematography, art and xenotourism. The state is mechanite and a cult centre for the Builderkin. Quintesseplex's citizens are referred to as Quintoes by outsiders; citizens refer to themselves by their home provinces; e.g. Batatans or Batatassoonis, Dessalines, Polosons or Pollos, Rignarumites or Rignars, and Vakhellerins or Vakkas. They value variety, friendliness and gaiety. The state is the most xenopublic region on Cybertron and a major holiday destination.

Sea of Light

Metronoma: Resplex ["bright-coloured capital"]

Core-deep gulf; self-governing independent with close ties to the Tri-Peninsular Torus states in the late Golden Age. The state derives its name from the effect of the light rising from Cybertron's core through the thick clouds of haze in the gulf, giving the effect of an ocean of soft brightness. The state is Primordialist. The Sea of Light's citizens are referred to as Luxians, Luminiscenes or Seabrights; they value hospitality, perfect balance and the willingness to help those in need. Subcities include Dizeron ["city of stars"].

Sonic Canyons

Metronoma: Vertaxis ["apex city of the governor"]

City-state containing core-deep gulfs and canyons; independant state. The state derives its name from the massive amounts of noise rising from its deep gulfs. The state is a centre for scrap metal recycling and sonic research. The state is Sigmite. The Sonic Canyon's citizens are referred to as Sonarians or Canyonites; they value fleetness of thought and movement, nimbleness, bold personalities and a loud voice. The state has the highest percentage of cassette-hosts per capita of any region on Cybertron.

Stanix [trans. "Poor Tin City"]

Metronoma: Stanaxis ["tin city of the governor"]

Province; Murion Torus partner. The state derives its name from its wealth of tin and its distinct lack of any other major resources or industries. The state is a centre for the import, processing and export of tin and cheap alloys, and the production of mining equipment. The state is officially Sigmite in accordance with the Orbital Torus, but the majority of the populace is Primordialist. Stanix's citizens are referred to as Stanaxians, Stannars or [rudely] the Stanx; they value material goods [not wealth but having many possessions], joy in friendship and charity.

Tagon [trans. "Steel-Forged"]

Metronoma: Tagoxis ["steel city of the governor"]

Insula-state; Polar Torus partner. The state derives its name from its status as the premier steelmaking centre of Cybertron. The state is also a centre for the production of medical equipment and vehicles, and solar powerplants. The state is Primordialist and a cult centre for the Foundation of Gold. Tagon's citizens are referred to as Tagonians, Tagox or [long-windedly] Tagonagos: they value compassion, medical skills and enjoyment of life's good things. Subcities include Perihelon, Chromus and Heliron.

Tarn [trans. "Dark Place"]

Metronoma: Tarnaxis ["dark city of the governor"]

City-state; Polar Torus member until the late Golden Age, when it became an self-governing independent. The state derives its name primarily from its position in the shadow of the Voe mountains, but also from its use of large quantities of radioactive material. The state is a centre for the production of artillery and tanks, nuclear reactors, and the importing and processing of radioactive material. The state is Primordialist. Tarn's citizens are referred to as the Tarnish or, [to outsiders attempting to be polite] Tarnaxians; they value forthrightness, simple and reliable technology, and strength in endurance.

Tyrest [trans. "The Most Purple"]

Metronoma: Tyraxis ["purple city of the governor"]

Insula-state; self-governing independent. The state derives its name from being the primary producer of purple colouring agents on Cybertron by a high margin. The state is a centre for the production of dyes, staining agents and colorants, and for the construction of wind generators. The state is Sigmite and a cult centre for the Reforged Brotherhood. Tyrest's citizens are referred to as Tyrestian, Tyres or Tytos; they value strength in belief, open friendliness and tolerance of differences.

Uraya [trans. "Serving to the End"]

Metronoma: Urayaxis ["city serving the governor to the end"]

Insula state. Uraya began the Golden Age as a member of the Tri-Peninsular Torus, after the fragmentation of which it joined the Polar Torus, eventually becoming a vassal-state of Iacon in the late Golden Age. The state derives its name from its citizen's high value of service and subordination. The state is a centre for the production for drones, droids and personal servants. The state is Primordialist and is a cult centre for the Followers of Skybreak. Uraya's citizens are referred to as Urayans or Urays; they value loyalty, obedience and subordination. Subcities include Hesprox ["westernmost city"].

Valvolux [trans. "Rich City Spiralling Downwards"]

Metronoma: Valvolux

City-state; self-governing independent. In the late Golden Age, Valvolux split into two; Upper Valvolux joined the Polar Torus, and Lower Valvolux joined the Tri-Pensinular Torus. The state derives its name from its abundance of material wealth and the unusual, downward-spiralling "twisted pit" design of its capital city. The state is a centre for molecular, subatomic and atomic research. The state is officially Primordialist although more than half of the populace are adherents of other religions. Valvolux's citizens are referred to as Valvoluxians, Valvoes, Voluxors or Valvals; they value grand design, ambition in planning and working for the betterment of the people and the state. Valvolux-city is in Lower Valvolux; after the state's fragmentation, Upper Valvolux was governed from the city of Aorodan ["shining colony"] on the coast of the Sea of Light.

Vilnacron [trans. "Wonderful City of Lesser Nacre"]

Metronoma: Vilnacraxis ["pearly leaping city of the governor"]

City-state; Orbital Torus partner. The state derives its name from the cheaply produced pearlescent cladding on the majority of its public buildings. The state is a centre for the production of coating and cladding substances such as lesser nacre, chrome foil, etc. The state is Sigmite. Vilnacron's citizens are referred to as Vilnacronians, Vilnars or Lanacrons; they value ambition, material wealth and an outgoing personality. Subcities include Btnarsafron ["city on blue hills"].

Vos [trans. "City Crowning Voe"]

Metronoma: Voxis ["dark grey city of the governor"]

City-state; Legascion state. The state derives its name from its position atop the Ugolen Voe ["dark mountains seen through mist"]. The state is a centre for the production of aeroplanes and other atmospheric craft, and supplied the majority of citizens of the other Legascion states. The state is Primordialist and a cult centre for the Forged of Prima. Vos' citizens are referred to as Vosians or Vo'oes; they value speed of thought and movement, joy in flight and self-determination. Subcities include Vertehelehon ["on a twisted peak"], Ugoltyr ["purple mountain"], Btarkahex ["walled city on the fair hill] and Bnarbetan ["red hills"].

Yarraron [trans. "City of Ridges"]

Metronoma: Yarraxis ["ridged city of the governor"]

City-state; Murion Torus member. The state derives its name from the unusual ridges in the land around its capital. The state is Sigmite and a cult centre for The Masterworks. Yarraron's citizens are referred to as Yarrans, [familiarly] Yarsies or Yarraronians. Subcities include Zendrezheum ["strong-tiered towers"] and Yarrabtaaum ["towers on the ridged foothills"].

Zhenetox [trans. "Strongest City"]

Metronoma: Zhenaxis ["strong city of the governor"]

Insula-state; Polar Torus partner. The state derives its name from its role as manufacturer of Guardian robots. The state is also a centre for the production of rustproof materials and anticorrosive substances. The state is Primordialist and a cult centre for the Brothers of the Matrix. Zhenetox's citizens are referred to as the Zhendex, or Zheneos ["strong ones"] also a colloquial term for its main product; they value patience, calm temperament, obduracy in the face of adversity and a lack of fear of giant robots. Subcities include Arkuhlehuon ["place of unyielding guardians"].
