This section exists to track the passage of the Matrix from one bearer to another.
For the sake of this section I am dividing the Transformers canon collossus into five sections: the G1/G2/BW-BMac/possibly-also-RiD "original" canon, the Armada/Energon/Cybertron "new" universe, the Japanese stuff I know nothing about, the 'other' canon such as the Dreamwave comics, IDW comics, and the 'fringe' not-very-canon Collector's Club comics, Botcon comics, etc [let's face it, if I included this lot, I'd have to include the Ladybird books too, and those do some WEIRD things]. I'm focussing solely on the first section because there are only so many hours in the day.
Vector Prime is listed in one of the fringe comics as having had the Matrix. The fact he is called Vector Prime does agree with this. However, he is an Armada/Energon/Cybertron-continuity character and therefor from a completely different universe to the G1/G2/BW-BMach/possibly-RiD sequence. Ergo Vector Prime is being ignored. It's not like he's not used to it.
According to Megatron in TFTM, the Matrix can be destroyed.
The Matrix is variously referred to as the Creation Matrix [comics], the Matrix of Leadership [cartoons] and a genetic Matrix. Possibly each Cybertronian has a genetic Matrix and the Matrix happens to be Prmius's.
It is almost certain that the "Decepticon Matrix" does not exist. After all, if it did, why would Thunderwing go chasing the Autobot one?
Small pieces of the Matrix can be broken off and handed to other beings. Optimus Prime gave the Pretender Longtooth a piece; he also gave a piece to Spike in the IDW comics. Optimus later used the piece he gave to Longtooth to regenerate Earth's damaged ecosystems. This is the only example of the power of Primus regenerating organic life.
